Jericho House

At Christ the King we support the work of Jericho House in Derby which was opened in 2004 following a similar successful project in Scotland.
Jericho House is a 9 bedded all male residential unit helping those with drug and alcohol dependency. It aims to give hope, structure and discipline to those who are struggling to break away from a destructive lifestyle, enabling them to lead a fulfilling and independent life.

Jericho House has a programme of 24 hour support which consists of:
 * Therapeutic duties
     * Tenant led groups supported by staff
* Social outings
     * Education courses through Derby College
* Reflexology
     * Sports and leisure with Derby Leisure Centres.

Tenants also attend self-help groups such as Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. The programme lasts approximately 6 months.
The parish contributes financially to the work of Jericho House on a regular basis.
